How long have you played for Frindsbury:

26 years which makes me the longest serving current playing member I think. I started in the Colts in 1984 before graduating to the 2nd XI South Thames League team and Sunday 2nd XI. There were some real characters in those teams, where every meeting place for away games seemed to be a pub! For the last 10 years I have played in 1st XI although this is probably more down to availability rather than ability!

What’s been your best moment for Frindsbury CC?

Promotions in 2002 and 2008 and every post match drink after a home game!

Worst moment at Frindsbury?  When Tom Fogarty passed away prior to the 2002 season for which he had been elected 1st XI Captain. I like to think I have tried to make sure his approach to the game on and off the field has been kept alive.

Which side do you most enjoy playing against? Who are your biggest rivals?

Cowdrey, no question. Playing against them always seems to bring the best out in me personally and games tend to be incident packed. There is definitely no love lost between the 2 clubs.

Who’s the best player you’ve ever played with for Frindsbury?

John and Sam Dudgeon stand out as batsmen, Tim Jones and Gilo as bowlers and a toss up between Carl Laraman and Darren Jenner behind the stumps.

Favourite Band/artist?

Saint Ettienne

Favourite Sport other than Cricket? Football. I am a season ticket holder at Ipswich.

Most intelligent player at FCC: After me, Dan Reeves and Frank Walding

Least Intelligent Player at FCC: Robbie Elliott (he is a footballer after all!!)

Who is your young player to watch out for in 2010?

Not sure yet – hopefully it will be the 1 who breaks into the 1st Team this year.
