Hope you are all coping well with the distinct lack of cricket at the moment, but still basking in the glory of the brilliant Ashes victory this summer. Frindsbury CC have an active close season, and many social events for you, as members of the club, to enjoy.
Firstly, every other Saturday, starting on 3rd October, the club house will be open, so pop along for a beer and a catch up, or maybe bring along a take-away and enjoy the X-Factor.
There is a scorers evening being run at Meopham Cricket Club, on Thursday evenings, between 15th October to November 26th, starting at 7.30. The cost is £25. Please e-mail frindsburycricketclub@yahoo.co.uk if you would be interested in learning to score, or perfecting your technique, and the club will be able to assist with costs.
Along with the scorers course, there is also an umpires course being held at Blean Village Hall, Nr Canterbury, on Thursday evenings, for the following 6 weeks, starting on 22nd October. The cost of this is £45, and on completion you will become a certified Level 1 umpire. Again, please contact the club for more info, and the club will assist with costs.
October 24th will be the ever successful Bingo evening. Starting at 6.30pm, the cost is £3 per person, and includes hot food, with additional costs per book of bingo cards. There will be eight games per evening. Open to all members, and family.
Saturday 5th December will be the Colts Christmas Bowling, and will be held between 11.00am and 1.00pm at AMF Chatham. Everyone is welcome to attend, and the price will be £9.99, which will include two games of bowling, shoe hire, food and a drink. Keep your eye on the website for full details of all forthcoming events, such as the New Years Eve Party, and Paintball, which are sure to be as good as ever.
Remember, as if you didn't know already, next year, 2010, is Frindsbury Cricket Club's 125th year Anniversary. It promises to be a fantastic year for all involved at the club, as we celebrate the last 124 years.
