Under 11's v Blue Bell Hill

Today saw the under 11’s play against Bluebell Hill. We needed to win this match as it would help us to win the league.

 

We batted first with Joe and Jordan as our opening pair facing the first 4 overs. Joe put on two runs and Jordan scored 12 without any loss of wickets. One of the good shots by Jordan was when he clipped it past slips for 4 runs. There innings finished with us on 223.

 

Next in were Morgan and Shaun.  The pair started well and put on some good runs hitting a number of 4’s and pushing along the run rate up with a number of singles.

 

At the end of there 4 over’s they had put on 27, with Shaun scoring 17 and Morgan 10 with a total team score of 246.

 

Matt and Sam were next to the crease. Sam played some nice shots, his first drive resulted in a four and then he followed that shortly after with a pull shot for four.

 

Matt was steady at the other end against some good bowling however the pair ended there innings with the team score on 277.

 

Our last pair to go to the crease was Adam and James. Adam quickly started to put on runs with a nice drive for 2. The bowler then gifted Adam with a full toss which he quickly despatched for two runs.

 

At the end of there innings Adam had hit 3 fours and James had hit two; the combined score for the team had moved on to 314.

 

Then it was Bluebell Hill’s time to bat. Joe and Morgan were the first in our bowling line up.

 

The first delivery was from Joe who’s pace and accuracy surprised the batsman and lead to the loss of there first wicket.

 

The next three over’s were all bowled well with Bluebell Hill having difficulties in scoring runs. Morgan bowling the last of his two over’s bowled an out swinger that the batsman played straight in to the air. Jordan came round to take a great catch.

 

Blue bell hill finished there first four over’s on 191.

 

Next in to bowl were Shaun and Jordan. Shaun started the bowling attack against there new batsman. Shaun started well bowling straight and tight to the batsman who didn’t look too confident. The fifth ball found its way past the defence of the batsman and clean bowled him. After the change over of batsman Shaun delivered his last bowl of the over, which took a big top edge sending the ball straight up into the air. Jordan ran forward from slip and took comfortable catch.

 

Jordan started his overs from the other end his first ball found its way past the defence of the batsman and clean bowled him. Jordan then continued to bowl straight and quick just around the off stump tempting the batsman to play some shots. Adam our keeper quickly saw an opportunity to stump the batsman who hand been tempted to swing outside hit crease – Another wicket fell.

Shaun started his second over on a possible hat-trick. Shaun bowled straight and on the stumps however the batsman successfully defended the bowl. No other wickets were taken by the pair.

Bluebell Hill dropped at 188.

Next to bowl were Sam and James. James opened first and had a steady over. Sam then took up the attack and with Bluebell hill trying to push up there score; the batsman hit the ball straight to Morgan who took a great catch.

James then bowled his last over again bowling straight and on the stumps; the batsman trying to push the score along missed a straight ball and lost another wicket. Bluebell Hill were now at 203 after there third pair.

 

Our final four overs were bowled by Matt, Shaun, Matt and then Joe. No wickets were taken in the next three overs with the final wicket being taken in Joe’s last over. Bluebell Hill finished there innings on 224.

 

The team played well in both there batting and bowling only loosing two wickets in there 16 over’s of batting and taking 9 Bluebell Hill wickets.
