Hi there,
I'm David Pearce and I was the scorer for Frindsbury 1st XI for two seasons and absolutely loved it. More than most, Frindsbury made the scorer feel part of the team, rather than the nerd on the boundary, though I certainly was that!!! I saw one of our strongest sides with John Dudgeon, Barry Martin, Micky Day, Lloyd Pankhurst et al. I did the scoring for the match against Kent Club and Ground in 1984 when the new pavillion was opened. I'm back in the area now after globetrotting and keep promising to come down, but things always get in the way! Off to see the exhibition today in Strood. Happy times!

A BIG thanks to Dave Claughton for running the bar throughout the season and during the many events this year, it can\'t be easy remaining sober and having to listen to the games replayed, the runs players would have had if it wasn't for bad decisions, the wickets almost taken, and the singing stars of the club on fun nights.
Thank you Maurice (and Mrs Maurice) from us all.

Brilliant weekend everyone - thanks to the hard work of Matt Payne, Mark and Sam Gracey plus the cooking of BBQ Nigel and the ladies plus the players it was another success for the Club. Narrowly beaten the colts and the Colts Barmy Army will re group for the onslaught next year. Brilliant to have other members join into the evening too
What a fabulous idea and long may it reign at the club
Brilliant to everyone

In qualifying my comments we must hail some great individual performances in each game of the U16 cup
The only loss - against Rainham we gained batting points most importantly from the 21 Rob Sheppard scored
Winning matches were
Sherwood - Sam Budd hit a brilliant 84 with Connor Ashenden taking 6 wickets returning figures of 5,1,15,6
Borstal - George Burt took 5 wickets returning figures of 5,1,19,5 and Connor Ashenden 23 not out
Blue Bell Hill - Harry Horsfall gained his first 50 for FCC and certainly won us the match taking a wicket on the way
and so to Harvel.....my little boy scored a creditable 44 and took a spectacular catch and bowled figures of 6,1,16,3 - Connor Ashenden also returning a brilliant captains bowling session of 6,2,15,3
These spectacular flashes of brilliance could secure this years U16 cup and only bowling or batting points will decide as we can expect 36 more points and all our rivals have to play 2 matches each next week
Fingers crossed for a little rain!!!
I am immensely proud of the effort ALL our players put in to each match and thank you for each piece of brilliance displayed
Phew I am going to bed now drained of emotion

I would like to congratulate Rob Peters on an excellent season at U16 level for his team - a creditable mid table league result but a possible top or second placed U16 cup has been brilliant - inspired captaincy from Connor saw the final two matches won and against Harvel!!! We have never beaten Harvel in anything as a team but today - WOW!!!!
Fabulous team effort - bring on 2009
Well Done all of you - Coach, players and spectators

Can I just say that the U13 team who beat Cobham on Sunday 29th June (Kelly on 21 runs, plus fab bowling Carter 3,3,0,2 and Sparling 3,0,16,2) and who beat Harvel on Wednesday 2nd July were BILLIANT - it was a real nail biter at Harvel but a fabbo maiden 20th over from Matt Kelly did the job - congrats to Kye Harris 18 runs (incl three 4's)and Simon Gale who had his best ever performance for the team retiring on 27 runs (incl four 4's!!) and bowling 2,0,9.0 to celebrate his birthday
Well done boys - we are all very proud of you
