Hello, welcome along to the 5th FCC blog.

In this one, you'll hear about more social events, the Cricket Force Weekend, and your chance to be the Jose Mourinho of Cricket.

Auction

This saturday see FCC hold it's first ever Auction. If you have anything you want to sell, bring it down to the club on Saturday morning, and pop it into the auction. Viewing is from 11.00am and bidding starts at 1.00pm. 10% commission to FCC.

Social

The Annual Trip to Canterbury is this year planned for 27th August, and sees Kent Spitfires take on Surrey in a Pro 40 Floodlit match. Anyone who hasn't been before, it is a highly reccomended evening. Anyone who has been before can justify that.

Ticket prices are yet to be finalised, but watch this space.

Paintball will now be held on 18th April, anyone interested is urged to contact either Nigel Blown or FCC as soon as possible, to guarantee your place.

Easter Bingo is all set for 4th April, details can be found in the Events section.

Cricket Force Weekend

The committee, and John Tadman especially, have been working tirelessly on planning the weekend, so to maximise our workforce. Projects in the pipe-line include;

 - Building a Grass compound
 - erecting some fencing
 - Clearing out the old shed
 - putting up the nets
 - preparing the third net
 - painting the fences
etc etc

So, if you can dig, paint, hold, carry, push, pull, drive, mow, prepare, cut, fill, then you can help us out. Nigel Blown will be cooking Breakfast for us at 9.30, so come along early, enjoy a fry up, then help us out.

If you are a plasterer, then you will be our most valuable asset, and may even get seconds at breakfast! Please e-mail FCC for more info.

Nets

Colts nets are due to finish within the next couple of weeks, and it has been agreed that outdoor sessions will take place from the week of 15th April (weather permitting), at Frogs Island, at the team managers discretion. Please see you team manager for more information.

Senior nets will take place outdoors (weather permitting) on Thursday evenings, beginning on 23rd April.

Keep an eye on the webiste for details of net sessions.

Fantasy Cricket

Fancy yourself as Peter Moores, but a little bit better?

This year, FCC will be running a Fantasy Cricket League amoungst it's players. To enter a team, you be asked to select 11 players from a list. These players will then score points for you, by scoring runs and taking wickets, what they do best (hopefully!).

More details will follow, but it will include a prize, probably cash!

2009 Fixtures

All the league fixtures are now available, and can be found on the play-cricket website. We are currently in the process of finalising friendly fixtures, so if there are any we should know about, please contact us asap, so that we can make sure it is booked in. Shahab raza has taken the lead in this, so our thanks to him for organising them all. 2009 looks to be yet another record breaker for the number of teams and games played by Frindsbury Cricket Club, with the new Third Team playing their home games at the BP Club in Hoo.

Once all the fixtures are finalised, they will be collated into the fixture book, and these will be ready for the start of the season.

Cricket Force Weekend

During the weekend of 3rd, 4th, 45h April 2009, clubs throughout England are participating in a scheme to get their clubs ready for the new season, and Frindsbury are no different. If you can spare a few hours, please come down to the club, and lend your hand one of the many things that need to be done for the start of the season. Last year, we managed to refit our kitchen, and showers, along with many other smaller jobs. Everyone can help out, so please come, as many hands make light work.

If you have any specialised skills (we may need a plasterer!) then even better!

2010 - 125

Next year, 2010, is set to be one of the most exciting years in the club's history, as it marks the 125th anniversary since it was founded by the vicar of Frindsbury in 1885. There is set to be a whole host of events run throughout the year, and a 2010 committee is already in place organising events, to make it a truly unforgettable year.

If you have any information on the history of the club, please forward it to frindsburycricketclub@yahoo.co.uk.
